SWEET CHRISTMAS!

This is the episode in which I celebrate the holiday season by talking about Power Man and Iron Fist Annual #1: Sweet Christmas by David F. Walker, Scott Hepburn, Matt Milla, and Clayton Cowles.

"YOU BETTER NOT POUT, YOU BETTER NOT CRY! ’Cause you’re getting an extra helping of POWER MAN AND IRON FIST! This Christmas will be sweet, indeed! But not for Luke Cage, who is feeling neither holly nor jolly. Surely Danny can change that! Or maybe these demonic toys will! Wait, demonic toys?! OH, NO!"

I'M FEELING RECKLESS

This is the episode in which I talk about Reckless by Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Jacob Phillips.

"Sex, drugs, and murder in 1980s Los Angeles, and the best new twist on paperback pulp heroes since The Punisher or Jack Reacher.

ED BRUBAKER and SEAN PHILLIPS, the modern masters of crime noir, bring us the last thing anyone expected from them—a good guy. A bold new series of original graphic novels, with three books releasing over the next year, each a full-length story that stands on its own.

Meet Ethan Reckless: Your trouble is his business, for the right price. But when a fugitive from his radical student days reaches out for help, Ethan must face the only thing he fears…his own past."

Published by Image Comics on December 16, 2020.

THE THREE JOKERS

This is the episode in which I talk about The Three Jokers by Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, Brad Anderson, and Rob Leigh.

"Thirty years after Batman: The Killing Joke changed comics forever, Batman: Three Jokers reexamines the myth of who, or what, is the Joker and what is at the heart of his ongoing battle with Batman? New York Times bestselling writer Geoff Johns and artist Jason Fabok, the team that waged the “Darkseid War” in the pages of Justice League, reunite to tell the ultimate story of Batman and The Joker!

In this highly anticipated epic, learn why there are three Jokers, and what that means for the decades-long battle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime. In this powerful, emotional story, Batman, Batgirl, and Red Hood-all past victims of The Joker-work together to solve a mystery unlike anything they’ve ever faced before!"

Published by DC Comics, Black Label, on November 17, 2020

SPIDER-MAN #3 (2019)

This is the episode in which I talk about Spider-Man #3 by Henry Abrams, JJ Abrams, and Sara Pichelli. I also, once again, get a bunch of information wrong when I announce that issue 4 isn't coming out till later this month, when it actually came out in September. Plus issue 5 is already out too, so I don't know where my mind was.

Anyway, issue 3 came out on December 18, 2019.

JOHN BYRNE'S SUPERMAN: PART TWO

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a man in a beard talking about a comic written and drawn by a man in a beard. That's right, I'm back once more with John Byrne's Superman run with Man of Steel #2 by John Byrne, Dick Giordano, John Costanza, and Tom Ziuko.

"Lois Lane drives off a pier in order to get Superman's attention so she can interview him for the Daily Planet. In addition, Superman writes his first story for the Metropolitan newspaper, leading to the meeting of Lois and Clark!"

Published by DC Comics in September, 1986. I said October 1987 at one point in the episode, but it was September, 1986.
